The Klowak/Cummings Group has been entertaining audiences for years with their regular appearances at the Winnipeg Jazz Festival and other venues. The group’s unique and broad choice of material, original take on jazz standards, and their repertoire of original material showcases their musicality and versatility.

Saturday Evening - Big Jay and the Jive Flyers & the Solomon Douglas Swingtet
Saturday evening will be a night of music not to be missed! Renown local bandleader Jay Harrison will be collaborating with Solomon Douglas, who is known throughout the worldwide swing dance community for music that dancers love dancing to.
This will be an evening of the best live swing music Winnipeg has danced to in generations.

JAY HARRISON has been a successful professional Bandleader/Musician for over twenty years.
Since arriving in Winnipeg, Jay Harrison has been extremely active in the local music scene. Jay is the lead trombonist with the Ron Paley Big Band, the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra as well as the Salsa Band, Combo Latino and is featured on the latter group’s CD entitled “Ritmos Calientes”, recorded in collaboration with the CBC.

SOLOMON DOUGLAS is a beloved dance teacher, musician and bandleader, known and respected throughout the worldwide swing dancing community; his bands have played at dance events everywhere. From September to December of 2006, he toured the United States and Japan as a member of the world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. He is now living on road, working as a freelance musician and dance instructor. |

NIGHTFALL is a Winnipeg band playing a variety of jazz, blues, easy-listening, and swing music. Nightfall members are Bill Wsiaki, bass and guitar, his son Nathanael Wsiaki, piano, Bunny Gentes, drums, Marina Marinelli, vocals, and daughter Gabrielle Wsiaki, vocals. The musicians play purely for fun and personal musical growth.
The group performs regularly at McNally Robinson’s Booksellers and for ‘Mardi Jazz’ at the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre. Past performances also include the Open City Freedom Festival held in the Exchange District, the West End Cultural Centre, King’s Head Pub, and at the Inn At the Forks (at that particular show, Van Morrison, his band, and crew showed up. Nightfall played a song with Van Morrison’s bass player!)
